Rescued Dog Brothers Experiencing a Soft Blanket for the First Time Is So Heartwarming

So many shelter dog stories move us to tears, and now we can add this one to the list. Even though we know these sweet brothers are getting the best possible care at the National Mill Dog Rescue, it breaks our hearts to see that they're strangers to love.

All we know is that these timid boys were rescued from a puppy mill before ending up at @milldogrescue. They're not even sure what to make of a soft blanket! Once they get used to it, they're going to love it.

OMG! These guys are so cute and scruffy, but we doubt the puppy mill where they came from was taking proper care of their fur. They'll feel so much better after a bath and detangle, whenever that's possible and not stressful for them! For now, all they need to think about is relaxing.

"This just breaks my heart," wrote commenter @tricialen0. "Poor babies are so scared. They don't know they're safe now." Aww, that's true! The whole space is unfamiliar, and even though the soft texture of the blanket might be new, the shelter pups soon realize they're safe. In no time, they'll be cuddled up on the blankets together!

We agree wholeheartedly with @veronicamccleeve that "There is nothing like watching a rescue dog take it first sound sleep safe warm and feeling secure." Even if they're not totally at home yet, it's an honor to know you helped them feel safe enough to let their guard down a little. Before we know it, these brothers will be happier and healthier than ever!
